I was going to take this opportunity to highlight my new blog The Global Threat, but I was taken aback by this photo. I am not sure what disturbs me more, Steve with a large beer gut or Beth in Zebra pants! We can only hope that this change of personalities for both Steve and Beth is temporary and done soley for a Halloween party and not a new trend. More Halloween photos to come.
The Global Threat Blog is my newest creation and I really hope it takes on a life of it's own. I wanted to do something that tied in my love of Global Health with my social consious side. So I am going academia on you and that is good thing. What better way to teach myself not to get into heated discussions then to create a blog with a professional undertone to it. I hope you check it out, this blog is a work in progress, I have just started my first article on it and will hopefully have it done soon. It's about mining for dirty gold. Talk about a wake up call when all I ever knew about gold was how fantastic it looks on my finger! Some follow up topics include Pandemic Influenza and Children, and hopefully an article by Anne Speckhard.
The President has nominated Daniel V. Speckhard, of Wisconsin, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Greece. Mr. Speckhard currently serves as Special Advisor at the United States Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. Prior to this, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy in Baghdad. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Policy Planning for the Secretary General of NATO. Mr. Speckhard received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
Talk about a flash forward! I see this photo and think how life will change in about 8 years! I have been very busy with school and work so my little blog spot has not been a number one priority. We are gearing up to spend a day at the pumpkin farm for Logan's first ever school field trip. Which will be started by a mommy has to go to starbucks trip. However some highlights from this past month:
