Who needs sleep?

300pxnewborn_sleep Sleep Discovery Blog Link I was tooling around on the Discovery HD channel website when I went off on a link for the Science Channel and looked at news stories.  One story that struck me as unusual was one about Sleep and how there is new medication with little side effects out on the market for allowing people to stay awake.  My first thought was great, now bosses are going to expect us to work even more hours!

Scienctists are studying the effects of what prolonged wakefulness has on our brain and how it stores memory.   I can't see how staying awake and never sleeping would not have some serious adverse affects on our health.  But still an interesting study.

Happy Holidays!

I was looking for something special and clever to share with you for the holidays...what - what could I find? How about a use for those pesky little little fabric sheets and Christmas decorations all rolled into one? Well enjoy - and Happy Holidays!

Inglewood at Christmas time

Santa_photos We had a fantastic time sharing some good food, wine, and stories with our friends and neighbors over the weekend.  Instead of hanging out at someone's house which has almost become a weekend ritual, the gang got dressed up and went out on the town.  As an added treat we got to meet some interesting people - the santa bar crawl was going on and those guys were nuts!  And though a few our our friends were feeling under the weather, everyone still managed to have a great time!  One neighbor even ran into his parents!  Okay - yes - he is pretty young, but still....I love this street.  I am still hoping to get a photo we took with Santa Elvis, but alas it is not up on the pubcrawl site yet.  I will get one of the ladies up once I find what I did with my camera and sadly yes, my house is that much of a mess!

Things that make you go hmmm...

Crapart2_1 As much as I would dearly like to take credit for finding this website - I have to give it up to Sandy.  The children's art commentary is hysterical but the overall website is also very funny.  I especially liked the hate mail.  Go HERE for the Children's art work but go HERE for the whole website. I warn you - it is very addicting and due to language should not be viewed while at work.
