Photo Album

Img_0497 A couple of months a go - Logan got a citizen of the month award!  They select I think two kids from each class every month that show the traits of a good citizen.  Logan's teacher wrote about how kind Logan was and how helpful she is.  Which is of course amazing - though we don't see that all the time!  If you have not checked out the photo albums in the Gallery recently - we have our Florida trip in there but also Jen sent some Dcp_1562 photos from Canada that we updated in her family album.  Check 'em out and remember you have to contact me if you do not have a login.

Desmond just went Penelope on us!

111327_059_pre LOST is getting it's mojo back!  Tonight's epidsode "The Constant" did not disappoint!  In fact, best episode in many seasons.  That's right.  For some reason Desmond centric episodes work really well.  It might be the only time I did not let all the questions that LOST tends to put out there get in the way of the story.  Lots of time travel in this episode, which is not surprising given the theories that are out there.  I loved the going back and forth between past and future sequences.  What is Penny's dad up to?  Mr. Windmore was bidding on a Hanso book?  Did anyone get that?  If he hates Desmond soooo much why would he give him Penny's new phone number?  Maybe he wanted Desmond to be Penny's Constant?

Next week brings out "The Other Woman" - Juliet centric.  I thought we pretty much knew what we needed to know about her so it will be interesting to see where they are going with this.  Will there or won't there be more flashbacks?  Are we going to see the quadrangle go with two women interested in Jack - while Sawyer is shacked up with Hurley?  I am not holding out hope that next week will be THAT interesting, but I forgive the producers because tonight was pure genius.  I have also seen that communications guy before, the one that was all crazy and ended up dying when they were in the communications room on the boat.  Why has Penny been looking for Desmond for the last 3 years?  What happened in between the time he showed up all crazy at her door 8 years ago and demanded her phone number and when Desmond went missing?  Has he been missing 3 years?  What about the other 5 years?  Ahhh...back to the questions I guess!

Lost is back and you know what that means....

Light_dark Okay, okay it means I am ready to go crazy again.  It also means that unless you avidly follow Lost you are going to be Lost in my post about well Lost.  Lost started out with a bang this season, leaving once again more questions while answering a few from last season.  To recap we have the first three episodes of season 4 aired.  They are:

Episode One:  The Beginning of the End - ties up some loose ends

  • Hurley centric
  • He sees a fake Oceanic rep
  • He is running from the cops
  • He is committed
  • He sees Charley
  • Charley tells him "they need him"
  • Oceanic logos appear and so do igloos?
  • Jacob in the Cabin looks a lot like Jack's dad - hmmmm...
  • Hurley sees him (Jacob)
  • Big Mike (anyone remember Ana Lucia?) interrogates Hurley
  • Hurley is one of the Oceanic Six

Episode Two:  Confirmed Dead - about the would be rescuers

  • A rescurer claims to talk to the dead
  • Wreckage of flight 815 is discovered on the Ocean floor, all passengers are declared dead

Episode Three:  The Economist - Sayid centric episode

  • Sayid has seen the bracelet on Naomi's wrist before
  • There is a time delay between the island and apparently the boat
  • Ben is quite a world travler, Sayid finds a stash of passports hidden in Ben's house on the Others Compound
  • Sayid is one of the Oceanic Six
  • Sayid is killing people that Ben is telling him to kill in a flash forward

Episode Four:  Eggtown - Kate centric

  • Kate is passing Aaron off as her son (what happened to Claire and is Aaron considered one of the Oceanic Six?
  • It is clear to me that Kate and Sawyer are over
  • Ben and Miles seem to have a code going on 3.2 million was an odd request to me
  • Locke seems to have lost it, really.
  • Where are Sayid and Desmond?  The helicopter did not make it back to the freighter.
  • Hurley was once again "Scooby Doo'ed"
  • Jack testified at Kate's (fast forward epi) trial and used a bogus story that they both know is false, yet he says he loves her but won't go see her because of Aaron.  What gives?
  • There were two books in this epi, Philip K. Dick Valis, a book about god being a Zebra.  The other book was called The Invention of Moral, about love on an island.

Epidsode 5:  The Constant - Desmond centric

  • I can't wait - I love Desmond and so we get to find what happened to the helicopter this week!

I will update this weekly - so keep checking back.  I wanted to add another great spoiler website I found called Dark UFO check it out.

I want to skip right to Episode Three because Sayid's episode rocked for me.  Not only do we find out he is indeed one of the Oceanic Six but he is working with Ben Linus and killing people.

I also really am bad at math but why are all these people lately names after math genius types?

For the Lost viewer the big question was - how would the writers strike effect LOST.  The answer, now that the strike is over, will only be a limited amount, we should get the same amount of episodes as initially promised.  But do you have what is in every Lost fans toolkit?  The sites man, it's all about the sites.  Who has time to go back over each episode screen capturing each possible easter egg, cross referencing old episodes with new ones?  Here are the sites that are a must to any Lost Fan:
Sledge's Site
The Tail Section
A blog about my favorite LOST theory (warning a very possible spoiler of the entire show)

And last but not least - one must decide if they are indeed a Team Jack or a Team Locke.  Count me in on a Team Desmond!

The Toof Fairy Came!

Img_3585_3 Now I know what you are thinking - you're thinking, did I lose the tooth or toof.  No, but I just wanted to prove that Logan takes pictures better than I do.  She has become quite a good photographer and has moved onto the video arts.  She has been making movies of herself at the piano, making up songs, movies starring the cat and it just goes on and on.  I am not sure what has inspired this latest development, perhaps because I am such a film buff, but really I think it is because she likes to see herself on camera.  She has taken the time to take photos of me, Mark, and our cat.  She also found time to take her own pictures of her toothless grin!  Img_3813

Logan likes to tell everyone that I thought she was spitting toothpaste out on the floor and getting mad about it when really she was spitting her tooth out.  She finds that the best part of the whole ordeal.  She also thought the highlight of our Disney trip was when my iphone got stolen.  Strange child.

Holy Smokes! Speckhard.com Grows with Photos!

100_3315 The photo album is getting bigger!  We even gave Pete and Heidi their own album!  So keep those photos coming.  Check back to see newly added items.  Kathleen Speckhard - where are your family photos?????  Let's see...Logan lost lost her first tooth to much excitement.  A second one is loose.  Pete apparently made the news and was interviewed by a news station about going to Church or going to the Packer game.  Ah (cough, cough) next time Pete, mention speckhard.com because surely you've heard of us.
